GW-501516, also known as Cardarine, is a PPAR agonist that has been found to increase running endurance and stamina in mice. Additionally, GW-501516 has been shown to increase mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation and enhance fat metabolism in muscle tissue, which could potentially lead to less demanding cardiovascular work and increased fat loss. When dosed to obese rhesus monkeys, GW-501516 caused a dramatic dose-dependent rise in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol while lowering the levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, fasting triglycerides, and fasting insulin.
